Eyelash Extension Aftercare

Your lash extensions have been bonded to your own natural lashes, and shed with your natural lash cycle. There are ways that you can prolong the life if your lashes and extensions by following some simple care tips

  • Don’t get your lashes wet for 24 to 48 hours after their application (the longer, the better)

  • Use a clean mascara wand to gently brush your lashes into shape after getting them wet

  • Don’t use ANY mascara; this can dissolve the glue that keeps your lash extensions in place

  • ALWAYS wash your makeup off at night. Leaving makeup on can be a breeding ground for infection

  • Don’t use make-up remover directly on your lashes. Instead, use a Q-tip to clean carefully around your eyes. **Oil and Glycol-free remover is the only product to use near your lashes**

  • Don’t pick or pull at your lash extensions as this can pull out your own lashes, therefore, losing your extensions. The natural oils on your fingers can also affect the adhesive; so avoid touching them as much as possible

  • Do your best to not sleep on your lashes for the first night after application. If you need to, prop your head up with pillows so you don't roll over on them – even side-sleeping can affect lash extensions

  • To keep extensions clean, simply let the water from your shower head gently roll over your face. The warm water will be enough to break down makeup and natural oils that have settled in between the lashes (Salon grade cleansers can be purchased for heavy makeup wearers)
